In March 2005, Robert became the CEO of The Epilepsy Centre which operates in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Robert has brought the benefit of a long career in the not for profit sector to his work with The Epilepsy Centre.
He has a commercial background and is a marketer with broad experience in service industries, retail and property development.
His focus is to provide leadership, operational and financial management as well as advocacy and representation locally, nationally and internationally.
He believes that increasing the awareness of Epilepsy is critical to future success and so too is providing outstanding service delivery.

John Harley was appointed Public Advocate in South Australia in January 1999.

He graduated in law from Adelaide University and was admitted to the South Australian Bar in 1969.  He practised in the City for 30 years as a partner in the firms Norman Waterhouse & Mutton and Finlaysons prior to his appointment.

He is a Past President of the Law Society (1997 – 1998), the President of the Notaries’ Society of South Australia Inc and the Chair of the Human Rights Coalition in South Australia.

He is a member of the Ethics Committees of Calvary Hospital and the Department of Health.  He is the Chancellor and a Canon of the Anglican Diocese of The Murray.
