Occasional Forums
Discussion forums provide an opportunity for concerned members of the community to develop their knowledge and understanding of refugee-related issues. The speakers are always informative and engaging, and the audience finds the forums to be a valuable resource, enabling us to reflect upon and develop practical responses to the circumstances currently faced by refugees, asylum seekers and their supporters.
To receive further information or advance notification, telephone ARA or email reception@ausref.net

Public Speakers

ARA can provide public speakers for a wide range of events and audiences.

The diverse backgrounds and expertise of ARA’s staff means we can talk on just about anything, but we do specialise in migration, employment, settlement, multiculturalism, youth, inter-cultural relations and diversity, new and emerging communities and community development, youth, fundraising, volunteering, community support movements and Circles of Friends.

The service is free but a donation is appreciated.

Schools Programme
Parents and teachers struggle to find ways to educate our children about war and social trauma in ways that are non-threatening, yet realistic. ARA receives many requests from schools seeking to educate their students about these issues and how they can cause people to become refugees. ARA can provide guest speakers for senior high school students and teachers and sources for resources to use in the classroom.
