ARA Employment clients, Achel Deng Cyer and Dut Buol Deng were recently recognised at the inaugural SA Works in Eastern Adelaide Recognition and Achievement Day on Friday the 30th of May 2008.

Both Achel and Dut participated in ARA’s New Arrivals Employment Assistance Project which was run in conjunction with SA Works and the North East Development Agency late in 2007. The program aimed to support refugees and migrants living in the North Eastern metropolitan area into employment. Achel was successfully placed at Adelaide Poultry and Dut at Jeffries. Both have maintained continuous employment for more than six months.

Along with participants from other SA Works programs, Achel and Dut were acknowledged on the day by The Minister for Employment and Further Education the Hon. Paul Caica MP.

ARA has recently commenced another round of this program, and continues to work with our clients, the South Australian Government and the North East Development Agency to achieve positive employment outcomes for new arrivals in the region.
